At the first session, we will discuss the terms and conditions of the contract. Contracting is important because you have the right to know what to expect from counselling. We can discuss mutual expectations and agree how we want to work together. This will ensure your preferences and needs are met.
I will take direct you through an assessment. Given such, I am more likely to need to ask more questions and be more directive.

Counselling sessions (50 minutes) cost £70 and payments are made in advance of each session or paid in advance for a set number of sessions. Payment is made by bank transfer. I will issue you with an invoice for planned sessions in advance. I will provide you with a receipt for all payments made as well.

I offer both short-term work and open-ended work. The number of sessions will vary and can be agreed upon. If all goes well at the initial assessment session, I ask that you commit to at least three more sessions before reviewing the process. After this, the contract can be renewed or not.

Counselling requires consistency and commitment. Most people come to counselling on a weekly basis. Having said that I appreciate counselling can be a costly endeavour. Once the therapeutic relationship is established and the focus of the work agreed, attending less frequently is something we can discuss. We will undertake regular reviews and talk about the best way to proceed.
