Even though it’s just one session, it can be really effective, and hopefully you’ll leave with some clarity or a new perspective to move forward.

There are similarities between the two, particularly in terms of feeling heard and understood. However, they differ in two important ways.
Firstly, a single-session appointment is more structured and uses coaching tools and techniques to provide a focus for the conversation and move forward thinking to provide quick relief and work toward a solution for your situation.
Secondly, it is primarily based in the here and now and near future.
An initial therapy assessment session involves gathering information about a client's background and looks at emotional problems more in-depth and the past is explored as well.
